Where motivation comes from

Dan Pink talks about motivation. Why it’s interesting, and a science that is surprising and freaky. We are not as endlessly manipulatable and predictable as we might think.

The complete designer

Steve Jobs describes working with the great Paul Rand. I am amazed how articulate and aware Steve was about people and design.

Designer client relationship

Often when designers deal with clients they try to negotiate prices in the most unimaginable ways. Interestingly enough this exact behavior applied to other real world situations would feel totally out of place.

Here’s to the crazy ones

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward.

While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.

Mad Men opening credits

Mad Men Opening Credits Unofficially Re-Designed by Paul Rogers

I do like this take on the opening titles of Mad Men, though I have to admit that I would miss the original opening scene – A LOT! I am a huge fan of the show, and this re-design gives it an entire new feel that I am not so sure about yet. On the other hand I think it nails it on the head. Guess I just have to let go. Times are progressing… Can’t wait for the next season to come out.

Toy world

I really love the combination of saturation, tilt-shift effects and time lapse – makes everything look miniature such as in this gorgeous video – simply beautiful!
