Clubs in Amsterdam work a bit differently. There is no set music style, instead they are being mixed up.

Awake in the Gashouder

If you are visiting during the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) which takes place during October, buy tickets for Awakenings. The events have great DJs, an amazing lightship and indoors fireworks. Awakenings is also on New Years, every Easter, and there is even a festival which takes place outdoors in Spaarnwoude.

Visit Bitterzoet

Bitter Sweet is the translation of its name. The place is in Amsterdam’s city center and has a very interesting set of windows.

Club NYX

This club is inclusive, colorful, and you will find on its three floors a mixed audience from straight, bi, to gay… everyone is welcome here. There is even a DJ in the men’s toilet. The turntables are placed on a giant penis, and folks can wash their hands left and right to it.


Mainly concerts, but also has some good party concepts


The church on the Ruigoord terrain is used as a club on Saturday nights. You need to get to Ijmuiden, but there is public transport and a description of how to get there

Jimmy Woo

Located at Leidseplein and very central with spectacular dance floor. It’s close by Sugar Factory and Melkweg
